The Buried Giant -- Fromm Institute Drop In Book Club

Mark your Calender. The Buried Giant, a novel by the Booker and Nobel prize winning master of the weird and compelling, Kazuo Ishiguro, will be our next “Zoom-in” Book Group selection; and our next meeting is coming up.

“You would have searched a long time for the sort of winding land or tranquil meadow for which England later became celebrated.” So the novel begins. Axl and Beatrice guide us through the craggy hills and bleak moors of the barbarous pre-medieval countryside. They cannot remember basic facts about their past: Have they always lived in this village? Do they have children? As it turns out, the entire
village is amnesic.

If you are familiar with Ishiguro, you know there will be much more here than swashbuckling and dragonslaying. Join us.

The zoom meeting will be on Wednesday, April 7 at 3 p.m. – please note this new date and time! Read the novel and join our discussion. All Fromm Institute students are invited.
